Big let down, just visiting the area and wanted something spicy to eat. Saw that this restaurant was busy and went in. Service was very unreliable, left sitting at the table with no menu for about 10 minutes, given menu's and waiter returned after about 4 minutes asking for us to decide. Poppadoms tasted slightly rancid but we ate them (I know I should have complained but did not want to). Asked for drinks and waiter brought wrong ones (later tried to give us another drink for a different table). Waited in excess of an hour for main courses to arrive. My partner had a bland but ok chicken and spinach dish. I had the 1970's lamb tikka masala with huge amounts of bright red powdery sauce and eight small pieces of tough lamb, two of which were too tough to be cut. Accompanied by luke warm rice and stale naan bread. I suppose we could have been exceptionally unlucky, restaurant was busy and people seemed to be happy but myself and my partner felt severely ripped off with a £32 bill for something that could have been beaten by two cans of tesco's own brand generic curries. Cheesed off, ripped off and never going back. Intrigued that they displayed one of these runner-up 'best curry house' pseudo certificates. If you feel I have been too harsh, please try for yourself, it has been two days since I ate there and I feel sure the awful service and food will endure in my mind for a long while. |
